(1) God created the heaven and earth in six days
Day 1: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the face of the abyss; but the Spirit of God was upon the waters. God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day" and the darkness "night." There is evening and there is morning. This is the first day. --Genesis 1:1-5
Day 2: God said, "Let there be air between the waters to separate the water above and the water above." So God created air to separate the water below the air from the water above the air. And so it was. --Genesis 1:6-7
Day 3: God said, "Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear." And it happened. God called the dry land "earth" and the gathering of water "sea." God saw that it was good. God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, herbaceous plants bearing seed, and trees bearing fruit with seed in it, according to their kind." And it was so. --Genesis 1 Chapter 9-11 Festivals
Day 4: God said, "Let there be lights in the sky to separate day from night, and to serve as signs for seasons, days, and years; let them be lights in the sky to give light on the earth." And it was done. --Genesis 1:14-15
Day 5: God said, "Let the waters abound with living things, and let birds fly above the earth and in the sky." --Genesis 1:20
Day 6: God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds; cattle, creeping things, and wild beasts, according to their kinds." And it happened. … God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds in the air, over the livestock on the earth, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. ” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created he; male and female he created he. --Genesis 1:24,26-27
(2) The work of creation was completed in six days and rested on the seventh day
All things in heaven and earth were created. By the seventh day, God's work in creating creation was completed, so he rested from all his work on the seventh day. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy; because on it God rested from all his work of creation. --Genesis 2:1-3
(3) Mosaic Law → Sabbath
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath to the LORD your God. On this day you shall keep it, you and your sons and your daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and your The alien who is a stranger in the city must not do any work. For in six days the LORD made heaven, earth, sea, and everything in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. .--Exodus Chapter 20 verses 8-11
You shall also remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, from which the LORD your God brought you out with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the LORD your God commands you to keep the Sabbath. --Deuteronomy 5:15
[Note]: Jehovah God completed the work of creation in six days → rested from all His work of creation on the seventh day → "rested". God blessed the seventh day and designated it as a holy day → the "Sabbath".
In the Ten Commandments of the Law of Moses, the Israelites were told to remember the "Sabbath" and keep it holy. They worked six days and rested on the seventh day.
ask: Why did God tell the Israelites to "keep" the Sabbath?
answer: Remember that they were slaves in the land of Egypt, from which the Lord God brought them out with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore, Jehovah God commanded the Israelites to "keep" the Sabbath. "There is no rest for slaves, but there is rest for those who are free from slavery → enjoy God's grace.
