Lecture 7: Jesus is the Bread of Life
For the bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. They said, "Lord, always give us this food!" ” Jesus said, “I am the bread of life.” Whoever comes to me will never be hungry; whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:33-35
Question: Jesus is the Bread of Life! So is "manna" also the bread of life?Answer: The "manna" God dropped in the wilderness in the Old Testament is a type of the bread of life and a type of Christ, but "manna" is a "shadow" → the "shadow" appears to be Jesus Christ, and Jesus is the real manna. , is the true food of life! So, do you understand?
For example, in the Old Testament, the "gold pot of manna, Aaron's budding rod, and the two tablets of the law" stored in the ark of the covenant all typified Christ. Reference Hebrews 9:4
“Manna” is a shadow and a type, not the real bread of life. The Israelites died after eating “manna” in the wilderness.
Therefore the Lord Jesus said: "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness and died. This is the bread that came down from heaven. If you eat it, you will not die. Do you understand this? John 6:47-50.
(1)The bread of life is the body of Jesus
Question: What is the bread of life?Answer: The body of Jesus is the bread of life, and the blood of Jesus is our life! Amen
I am the living bread that came down from heaven; if anyone eats this bread, he will live forever. The bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. So the Jews argued among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" ” John 6:51-52
(2) Eating the Lord’s flesh and drinking the Lord’s blood will lead to eternal life
Jesus said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, at the last day I will raise him up. My flesh is food, and my blood is drink. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I abide in him. John 6:53-56
(3) People who eat the bread of life will live forever
Question: If a person eats the bread of life, he will not die!Believers eat the Lord's Supper in the church and have eaten the Lord's bread of life. Why are their bodies dead?
Answer: If a person eats the flesh of the Lord and drinks the blood of the Lord, he will have the life of Christ → This life is (1 born of water and the Spirit, 2 born of the true word of the gospel, 3 born of God), this “new man” life born of God Never see death! Amen. Note: We will explain in detail when we share "Rebirth" in the future!
(For example) Jesus said to "Martha":"I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, even though he dies, yet will he live; whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" ” John 11:25-26
The flesh, which came from the "dust" of our ancestor Adam and was "born of our parents, was sold to sin, which perishes and sees death. All men are mortal once." Reference Hebrews 9:27Only those who have been resurrected by God, who have been resurrected with Christ, who eat the flesh of the Lord and drink the blood of the Lord, have the life of Christ. This life is: the "new man" born of God has eternal life and will never see death! God will also raise us up at the last day, that is, the redemption of our bodies. Amen! The “new man” who is born of God and lives in Christ, who is hidden with Christ in God, and who lives in your hearts, will appear physically in the future and appear with Christ in glory. Amen!

Let us pray together: Abba Heavenly Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, thank the Holy Spirit for leading all your children into all truths and being able to see spiritual truths, because your words are spirit and life! Lord Jesus! You are the true bread of our life. If people eat this true food, they will live forever. Those who eat the flesh of the Lord and drink the blood of the Lord will have the life of Christ! Thank you Heavenly Father for giving us this true food of life so that we have the life of Christ within us. This “new man” born from God has eternal life and will never see death! Amen. The end of the world will be the return of Christ, and our new man’s life and body will appear, appearing together with Christ in glory. Amen!
