Let’s open our Bible to Hebrews chapter 10 verse 1 and read together: Since the law is a shadow of good things to come and not the true image of the thing, it cannot make those who come near perfect by offering the same sacrifice year after year. .
Today we study, fellowship, and share " The law is a shadow of good things to come 》Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, thank you that the Holy Spirit is always with us! Amen. Thank the Lord for sending workers through the word of truth written and spoken by their hands → Give us the wisdom of the mystery of God that was hidden in the past, the way that God predestined for us to be glorified before all eternity! 【1】The law is a shadow of the good things to come
Since the law is a shadow of good things to come and not the true image of the thing, it cannot perfect those who come near by offering the same sacrifice every year. Hebrews 10:1
( 1 ) ask: Why does the law exist?
answer: The law was added for transgressions → So, why is the law there? It was added for transgressions, waiting for the coming of the offspring to whom the promise was made, and it was established by the mediator through angels. Reference--Galatians Chapter 3 Verse 19
( 2 ) ask: Is the law for the righteous? Or is it for sinners?
answer: For the law was not made for the righteous, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and worldly, for parricide and murder, for whoremongering and sodomy, for robbing persons and liars, and for those who swear falsely, or for anything else that is contrary to righteousness. Reference--1 Timothy Chapter 1 Verses 9-10
( 3 ) ask: Why is the law our teacher?
answer: But the principle of salvation by faith has not yet come, and we are kept under the law until the future truth is revealed. In this way, the law is our tutor, leading us to Christ so that we can be justified by faith. But now that the principle of salvation by faith has come, we are no longer under the Master’s hand. Reference - Galatians Chapter 3 Verses 23-25. Note: The law is our teacher to lead us to Christ so that we can be justified by faith! Amen. Now that the "true way" has been revealed, we are no longer under the "master" law, but under the grace of Christ. Amen
( 4 ) ask: Why is the law a shadow of good things to come?
answer: The summary of the law is Christ - refer to Romans 10:4 → The shadow of good things to come refers to Christ, " Shadow "It's not a true image of the original thing." When you keep the law, you are equivalent to keeping the "shadow". The "shadow" is imaginary and empty. You can't catch it and you can't keep it. The "shadow" will change with time and the movement of sunlight. "Children" will gradually become old and decay and soon disappear. If you keep the law, you will end up "working in vain, trying to draw water from a bamboo basket," and you will get nothing by then. So, do you understand clearly? See Hebrews 8:13
