Peace to all my dear brothers and sisters! Amen
We opened the Bible [Romans 7:7] and read together: So, what can we say? Is the law sin? Absolutely not! But if it weren’t for the law, I wouldn’t know what sin is. Unless the law says "Don't be greedy", I don't know what greed is .
Today we will study, fellowship, and share " The relationship between law and sin 》Prayer: Dear Abba, Holy Heavenly Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, thank you that the Holy Spirit is always with us! (1) There is only one lawgiver and judge
Let’s look at the Bible [James 4:12] and read it together: There is one lawgiver and judge, the one who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge others?
1 In the Garden of Eden, God made a law covenant with Adam. He was not to eat from the tree of good and evil. The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to cultivate and guard it. The Lord God commanded him, "You may freely eat from any tree of the garden, but you shall not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for in the day you eat from it you will surely die!" Genesis 2 Chapter 15- Verse 17 records.
2 Jewish Mosaic Law - Jehovah God gave the law "Ten Commandments" on Mount Sinai, that is, Mount Horeb. The law includes statutes, regulations, and commandments. Exodus 20 and Leviticus. Moses called all the Israelites together and said to them, "O Israel, listen to the statutes and judgments that I am telling you today, so that you may learn them and observe them. The Lord our God made a covenant with us at Mount Horeb. This covenant is not What was established with our ancestors was established with us who are alive here today - Deuteronomy 5:1-3.
(2) The law was not established for the righteous; it was established for lawlessness, disobedience, ungodliness and sin.
We know that the law is good, if it is used properly; for the law was not made for the righteous, but for the lawless and disobedient, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and worldly, parricide and murderer for those who commit adultery and sodomy, for those who rob people of their lives, for those who tell lies, for those who swear false oaths, or for anything else that is contrary to righteousness. --Recorded in 1 Timothy Chapter 1:8-10
(3) The law was added for transgressions
In this way, why does the law exist? It was added for transgressions, waiting for the coming of the offspring to whom the promise was made, and it was established by the mediator through angels. --Galatians 3:19
(4) The law was added from outside to increase transgressions
The law was added so that transgressions might abound; but where sin abounded, grace abounded all the more. --Recorded in Romans 5:20. Note: The law is like "light and mirror" that reveals the "sin" in people. Do you understand?
(5) The law makes people aware of their sins
Therefore, no flesh can be justified before God by the works of the law, because the law convicts people of sin. --Recorded in Romans 3:20
(6) The law blocks every mouth
We know that everything in the law is addressed to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be brought under the judgment of God. --Recorded in Romans 3:19. For God has imprisoned all men in disobedience for the purpose of having mercy on all men. --Recorded in Romans 11:32
(7) The law is our training teacher
But the principle of salvation by faith has not yet come, and we are kept under the law until the future revelation of the truth. In this way, the law is our training teacher, leading us to Christ so that we can be justified by faith. --Recorded in Galatians 3:23-24
The relationship between law and sin
( 1 ) Breaking the law is sin --Whoever sins breaks the law; breaking the law is sin. -Recorded in 1 John 3:4. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. -Romans 6:23. Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who sins is a slave of sin. - John 8:34
( 2 ) The flesh gave birth to sin through the law -- Because when we were in the flesh, the evil desires that were born of the law were working in our members, and they bore the fruit of death. -Recorded in Romans 7:5. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed by his own lust. When lust is conceived, it gives birth to sin; when sin is fully grown, it gives birth to death. -According to James 1:14-15
( 3 ) Without the law, sin is dead -- So, what can we say? Is the law sin? Absolutely not! But if it weren’t for the law, I wouldn’t know what sin is. Unless the law says, "Thou shalt not be greedy," I would not know what greed is. However, sin took the opportunity to activate all kinds of covetousness in me through the commandment; for without the law, sin is dead. Before I was alive without the law; but when the commandment came, sin came to life again, and I died. Recorded in Romans 7:7-9.
( 4 ) There is no law. Sin is not sin. -- Just as through one man sin entered the world, and through sin death came to all, because all have sinned. Before the law, sin was already in the world; but without the law, sin is not sin. Recorded in Romans 5:12-13
( 5 ) Where there is no law, there is no transgression --For the law provokes wrath; and where there is no law, there is no transgression. Recorded in Romans 4:15.
( 6 ) Anyone who sins under the law will also be judged according to the law --Everyone who sins without the law will perish without the law; everyone who sins under the law will be judged according to the law. Recorded in Romans 2:12.
( 7 ) We are saved from sin and from the law and the curse of the law through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
( Note: By examining the above scriptures, we can tell what is sin? Breaking the law is sin; the wages of sin? --Refer to Romans 6:23; The power of sin is the law --Refer to 1 Corinthians 15:56; When we were in the flesh, evil desires were born due to the law, namely lust. When lust conceived, it gave birth to sin, and sin When it grows, it gives birth to death. That is to say, the lustful desires in our flesh will be activated in the members because of the "law" - the lustful desires of the flesh will be activated in the members through the "law" and begin to be conceived - and as soon as the lusts are conceived, they will give birth to "sin"! So "sin" exists because of the law. So, do you understand clearly?
so" paul "Summary on Romans" law and sin "Relationship:
1 Without the law sin is dead,
2 If there is no law, sin is not considered sin.
3 Where there is no law - there is no transgression!
For example, "Eve" was tempted by the snake in the Garden of Eden to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The snake said to her: You will not surely die, but in the day you eat from it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. The seductive words of the "snake" entered into the heart of "Eve", and because of the weakness of her flesh, the lust inside her started in the members of the flesh. The lust began to conceive because of the commandment "Thou shalt not eat" in the law, and the lust began to conceive. After conception, sin is born! So Eve reached out and plucked the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and ate it with her husband "Adam". So, do you all understand clearly?
like" paul "Said in Romans 7! Unless the law says, don't covet, I don't know what covetousness is? You know "covetous" - because you know the law - the law tells you "covetous", so "Paul" said : "Without the law, sin is dead, but with the commandment of the law, sin is alive and I am dead." so! Do you understand?
God loves the world! He sent his only begotten Son, Jesus, to be the propitiation for us. Through faith, we were crucified with Christ through the flesh and the evil passions and desires of the flesh. We were reborn through Christ’s redemption, freeing us from sin and the law. And the curse of the law, obtain the sonship of God, obtain eternal life, and inherit the inheritance of the kingdom of heaven! Amen
alright! This is where I would like to share my fellowship with you today. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit be always with you all! Amen
